    • ]]>     I am done with all the blog changes I talked about in the previous post. The photoblog now exists under the unified blog. I also mirrored the two domains and then took it to the next level by switching the domains as well.

    http://blog.anands.net is now the unified blog URL and http://textblog.anands.net mirrors it. None of you have to change or update any of the RSS feeds, they should work automagically.

    Getting this to work without breaking (any more) of the existing clients and permalinks out there was fun. I learned way more about WordPress than I ever needed to :) . I have a couple of blog entries on how to migrate from PixelPost to WordPress and how to move WordPress from one sub-domain to another.

    Sorry for any of the duplicate posts in your RSS feeds, I could have avoided them with a little bit more careful planning, but I wasn’t thinking it through.

    • ]]>     I have had two blogs, a photoblog at http://blog.anands.net running Pixelpost and a ‘text’ blog at http://www.textblog.anands.net running WordPress for the longest time.

    Pixelpost is awesome, excellent to showcase photos, but it was over-run by spammers. I just couldn’t control it. My hosting provider disabled my db tables when the spam ratio went crazy. My pixelpost blog was attracting way too much spam. WordPress OTOH, seems to do a much better job at this.

    I disabled one feature after another in the photoblog. I went to JS-KIT for comments, I was doing more work on the photoblog trying to save it – so much so I stopped posting photos.

    I eventually sucked it up and moved my photoblog under my textblog. The photoblog can now be seen at http://blog.anands.net/category/photography/. I have been posting reviews and such under the category for years, so in a way, things do align up right.

    If you subscribe to the RSS / Atom feeds of my photoblog, they are being redirected temporarily to this new category right now. However, in a week or so I will merge the two sub-domains and the forwarding will stop working.

    So please update your blog RSS URL to http://feeds2.feedburner.com/anands/SEtm. The current RSS / Atom URLs will stop working in a few days.

    You can also subscribe to my whole blog instead of just my photography section. I do try to rant a bit about life in general, but it is very low volume. That RSS feed can be found at http://feeds2.feedburner.com/VoidPointer.
