Photography equipment. What worked in Costa Rica and what did not

I travelled to Costa Rica with the following gear:

1) Nikon D80
2) Sigma 10-20
3) Nikon 17-55 f/2.8
4) Nikon 70-300 VR
5) Tamron 90
6) SB 800
7) Feisol CT 3401 and Kirk BH3 head
8) 6 GB SD Cards
9) 60 GB PD70X portable storage device

In the lens front, 90% of my shots were done with the Sigma 10-20 and Nikon 70-300 VR. I could have traveled with just those two. I needed all the other accessories at various times of the trip. The lesson is the same I learnt in alaska.

Take your widest lens and your longest lens you can carry. Thats it :)

Flight back to San Jose

We flew back to San Jose through Sansa Air. A twin engine Cessna:

And the views were fantastic. The plane flew at 11,000 feet:

The flight to San Jose was a short 25 mins. Highly recommend it for any inside the country transport.
